Acriollado cacao from Cahabón. Organically grown in the Cahabón region, Guatemala.
This cacao is grown by Mayan Q’eqchi small-scale farmers. With a rich history of many generations of traditional agricultural knowledge and connection to the land.
Locally this cacao variety is known as Acriollado, a natural blend of Criollo and Trinitario that has evolved over decades into a unique genetic mix.
We love it how the roots of this cacao date back to traditional Mayan cultivation and is still cultivated today by indigenous Mayan Q'eqchi farmers.
Taste notes: full bodied, nutty chocolate, blackcurrant and berry fruity notes, soft warm aftertaste. Very nice to drink pure on water base and delicious in other recipes.
Shaped in 100% pure cacao coins or drops (instead of flakes, but same ease of use).
