The Koshi River chime from the Earth Symphony collection draws inspiration from the continuous movement of rivers. Its twelve rods, tuned to 440 Hz, unfold a fluid and nuanced resonance.
Its melody invites a listening to change and may evoke passage and hope.
With River, the Earth Symphony collection continues its journey through the great landscapes of Nature. Mountain, Forest, River and Ocean form four distinct sonic worlds, designed to be listened to alone or in dialogue.
River stands out with a fluid and positive sound character. Its melody may evoke movement and transformation.
Its twelve rods extend the resonance and give the Koshi River chime a broad and flowing sound.
The Koshi River chime is tuned to 440 Hz and has twelve rods, four of which are identically doubled at the same frequencies, also known as “sympathetic resonators.” This sonic architecture gives it greater depth and a rich, immersive resonance.
Each chime has its own melody, tuned to 432 Hz for the 4 Elements collection and to 440 Hz for Earth Symphony.
The four melodies within a collection are designed to harmonise with one another and can be played alone or together. As the two collections have different tunings, we recommend playing them separately.
The melody of the Koshi River chime can, for example, introduce and conclude a meditation session.
In sound practices, the Koshi River chime naturally finds its place alongside singing bowls, gongs or other harmonic instruments. Its lightness allows practitioners to move it easily through the space, to let the sound circulate, mark a change of rhythm or guide listening toward silence.

Its twelve rods are tuned by hand, with reference to 440 Hz, until they find their right place within the harmonic ensemble.
The four Earth Symphony melodies were designed to weave a natural harmony. Mountain, Forest, River and Ocean can respond freely to one another: each chime retains its own character while contributing to the balance of the ensemble.
Each Koshi River chime is hand-crafted at the foot of the French Pyrenees. The craftsperson solders twelve steel rods with silver onto a metal base, then tunes them one by one, with meticulous attention to their pitch and accuracy. The fine- wood resonance chamber amplifies the vibrations and gives the Koshi chime its long, clear and warm resonance.
